TV Advert Evaluation

Section One - The Brief

We had to come up with a rebradenshing idea and film a new advert for our idea. We chose to do Pot Noodle for the richer. We chose to do this instead of the other ideas because we felt it would be simple and had more interest. Our target audience was older high class people since Pot Noodle is usually aimed at teenagers and adults in working class. The reason behind this was to widen the consumers who would buy Pot Noodle.

Section Two - The Finished Product and Feedback

As a group, we collected feedback via a questionnaire. We asked if our advert would fit our target audience, if the narrative ran smoothly and if they would buy the product after seeing the advert. We also summarized each to responses. According to the feedback, we feel that we made our advert appropriate to our target audience and we feel the get gave a good message stating that it doesn’t matter what social class you are, you can enjoy anything if you want it. The after effects we feel was good, we didn’t have any recorded sound during the action, but instead the voice over which told the story. We also feel that the music choices we had was good as it changed from the stereotypical rich classic music to music that you wouldn't necessarily associate with the target audience; like you wouldn’t associate them eating pot noodles. Our message was that you can enjoy pot noodles no matter your social class, and we feel that we forwarded our message rather well by staging a stereotypical rich man eating a pot noodle. We feel that our advert sent a message while keeping with the BCAP boundaries. We haven’t said that they need to eat pot noodle, nor have we stated that the product is a healthy product [13.2 and 13.4].

Section Three - Personal Reflection

We had to change our plans from the original idea since we found a few of our original ideas were far fetched which with our short time period and minimal budget, we couldn’t include those aspects. Although not perfect, I really like the final product that we created. Had we more time and experience using the tools we had, I feel it would have been more professional.
