Blair Witch Project - Low Budgeting

The handheld camera movements by the actors, meant that there was a lower budget since there was no need to hire out camera men. The actors seemed rather obscure, which meant that they didn’t need to pay out for big stars, and also by putting more of a realistic film since if the cast were people that the viewers would know, then people would not believe in the story as well. The quality of the cameras seemed to be lower than a camera that would be used in a big Hollywood film, this is good because it both lowers the budget but at the same time it adds to the realistic effect. The location of the film was mostly located in wooded areas, meaning that the budget would lower since they didn’t have to hire out buildings or other locations. The cast used minimal props, including the lowered budget since they only really used camping gear as well as their camera. They lowered the time of producing the film by filming both during the day and night. The lowered time production would result in a lower budget since they wouldn’t have to pay the cast for many days of work. Lastly the fact that the film was filmed in black and white meant any effects that they used would have looked rather good, despite being rather cheep effects.

Change of Hands

As a whole, the video was alright. There were a few mess ups within the video, for example the continuity in my opinion is rather poor. The transitions could flow a lot more better and also during the filming, guy two seemed to keep looking at the camera at the end of some of the shots that he was in. There were one or two scenes that dragged on a little, for example when guy one was lighting his cigarette - though this was due to issues with the lighter. Lastly, I feel that the music was quite contrapuntal to the video and didn't since it seems to calm for the action that was added into the film.
